On Saturday, June 8, 2024, Lafayette High School’s own Patriots baseball team competed against East Side Community High School for the Division 2A City Championship. The game was played at the FerryHawks Stadium on Staten Island. Over 500 parents and friends of the two teams were treated to an unbelievable experience. All of us were chanting, cheering, and on our toes for most of the game. The final score was 6-5. Lafayette Coach Nagiub was overwhelmed with pride for his players’ success. They were seeded 14, yet rose to compete in the championship final. We congratulate East Side Community High School in becoming champions of Division 2A. To our fans and the PSAL, Lafayette Patriots have some unfinished business to take care of next baseball season. Until then, thank you all for an amazing season.
